The Tomodachi Game anime’s premise centres upon money, trust, and the spirit of friendship. The anime follows Yuuichi Katagiri, a high school student, and his pals when he gets a mysterious letter from an unknown organisation after the money gathered for a school trip is missing. Having said so, Yuuichi and the others meet up as specified in the letter.
However, they are knocked unconscious by unknown intruders and awaken in a bizarre area where they are greeted by a mascot named “Manabu-kun.” As a result, the Friendship Activities commence, with Manabu-kun challenging them to a series of cerebral games meant to test their trust and bond with one another.

They awaken in a mysterious chamber in the company of “Manabu-kun,” a character from a contentious children’s programme that was cancelled due to its awful nature. He discloses to the group that one of them was responsible for bringing them all together to pay off a large debt.
