Plot summary of Our Flag Means Death Season 1
Our Flag Means Death is a one-of-a-kind new comedy largely (very loosely) inspired by the actual experiences of Stede Bonnet, an 18th-century would-be pirate. Stede takes captain of the pirate ship Revenge when Bonnet exchanges the seemingly charmed life of a nobleman for that of a swashbuckling buccaneer. Stede’s fortunes change after a disastrous encounter with the legendary Captain Blackbeard, as he tries to gain the respect of his possibly mutinous crew.
